“To produce a good quality of wine means art, and like a true art requires Experience, Ability and Passion.”
The Vasari family is engaged since 1628 in production of quality wines in the territory that overlooks from the hills the valley of the river Mela in the municipalities of Saint Lucia del Mela and Merì.
The respect for tradition and the urge for continuous innovation is the right balance between a story already written and to be continued. In fact, as say futurists “if wine is of very ancient traditions it is nevertheless a beverage that’s renewed annually, dynamic beverage, which contains the man-fuel and the engine-fuel”.
A journey through time that, from generation to generation, accompanies the wise and meticulous work of the Vasari family constantly looking for an exclusive product with authentic flavors.
The story is a dive in art, it evokes events and emotions that have generated culture and passions marking time and the past generations.
It just the art, in all its faces that inspired the Vasari family, with a great vocation, has managed to create an unbreakable bond between the intellect and the fruit of earth turning it into a wine of great value.
Among the oldest in Italy, this winery tells through its walls and those of the museum, the story of a family and, above all, a story of the territory known for great achievements.
Palazzo Basile-Vasari, is protected by the Cultural Heritage. It has welcomed illustrious names like Michele Basile (1832-1907), literary man and writer, and futurist Ruggero Vasari (1898-1968), one of the founders of the artistic and cultural movement of the twentieth century.
Even today the roots of the culture affect the skilled labor that Ruggero Vasari and young nephew Michele carry on in the cellar with a modern and innovative vision.
